Hroisman sees no possibility to raise gas tariffs

Gas prices for population will not be raised, at least, in the near future.
Vice Prime Minister – Regional Development, Construction and Housing and Communal Services Minister Volodymyr Hroisman said, answering questions of journalists in Kyiv, a Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“I do not see such possibility to do it today,” he said about a possible rise of tariffs for population.
He stressed at the same time that now it is necessary to ensure social protection of population. “It is important not to raise something, but it is important to protect people, who cannot pay, this balance must be preserved,” he said.
Hroisman reminded about reduction of the level of granting subsidies to citizens with scanty means. According to him, a man with minimum income will not pay for the use of energy resources 10%, but 5.7%. “The one, who has income at two minimal wages and higher, will not pay 15 percent, but 15.8 percent, as it is not so felt,” he said stressing that also the number of subsidy holders will be expanded through revision of the norms of energy resources consumption in compliance with the available living space.
