Growth of industrial production in Ukraine slows to 0.8% in Oct

Growth of industrial production in Ukraine in October 2016 slowed to 0.8% from October 2015 against 2% in September 2016 year-over-year, according to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.

At the same time, industrial production in October 2016 grew to 5.7% from September 2016 against 4.4% in September 2016 from August 2016.

From January to October 2016, Ukraine saw a 1.9% increase in industrial production year-over-year.

The highest increase in production in October 2016 year-over-year was registered in the manufacture of equipment except for electrical systems (by 12.4%), while the manufacture of electrical equipment rose by 6.7%. Power, gas and steam supplies grew by 3.7%.

The highest growth in October 2016 from September 2016 was reported in power, gas and steam supplies (by 19%), while food production grew by 13.7% and metallic ore output climbed by 11.6%.

The State Statistics Service said that it does not include information from the annexed Crimea and Sevastopol and occupied areas in Donbas, eastern Ukraine, in its statistics reports.

As UNIAN reported, Ukraine saw a 13.4% decline in industrial production in 2015 compared to 2014, when the decline was 10.7%.

Experts polled by UNIAN predict that in 2016 Ukraine may see industrial production grow by 3%.
