Government approves unilateral demarcation of border with Russia

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has adopted a draft presidential decree on the unilateral demarcation of the state border between Ukraine and Russia.
Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers Ostap Semerak told this to journalists after a government meeting on Wednesday, a Ukrinform correspondent reported.
“The government has approved the draft,” Semerak said.
As reported, on September 24, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko signed decree No. 744/2014, which enacted the decision of the National Security and Defense Council on the instruction for the government to ensure the unilateral demarcation of the Ukrainian-Russian border due to existing threats to national security.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin said that the demarcation of the border between Ukraine and Russia was critical for the Wall project, which foresees the development of a securely fortified line.
