Global Peace Index: Ukraine ranks 156 out of 162 countries (infographics)

According to the Global Peace Index 2016 Report, Ukraine is on the 156th place, i.e. it is in the second place after Yemen in the rating of fall, which dropped to 158th place during the year. The top five countries where the Global Peace Index fell the most for the year is Turkey – 145th place, Libya – 154th, Bahrain – 132nd.
Compared to last year, the highest rise in the Global Peace Index demonstrated Panama (49th), Thailand (125th), Sri Lanka (97th), South Africa (126th) and Mauritania (123rd place).
Russia ranked 151 between the North Korea and Congo. The most dangerous country is Syria (163rd), followed by South Sudan, Iraq and Afghanistan. In addition, the top ten includes Somalia (159th), Yemen (158th), Central African Republic (157th), and Sudan (155th).
The safest countries are Austria, Iceland, Denmark and Portugal. The United States ranked 103, UK – 47th.
The ranking takes into account 23 factors, which include both internal – for example, the level of violence and crime in the country, and external – including relations with neighboring countries and the level of military expenditure.
