Foreign Ministry does not know where second “humanitarian convoy” is, but continues consultations

Ukraine holds consultations on possibility of supplying the second humanitarian convoy from the Russian Federation. In addition to the Russian side, representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross are attracted to negotiations.
Foreign Ministry Spokesman Yevhen Perebyinis told a briefing in Kyiv, a Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“We do not really know where there is this convoy, but consultations on this occasion continue with the Russian side, like with the International Committee of the Red Cross,” the diplomat said.
He noted that the Ukrainian side considers the aid from the Russian Federation in complex with similar proposals from other states: France, Italy, Sweden, Poland, Hungary, Japan, Estonia, Switzerland, Finland, the U.S. and Germany.
According to the Foreign Ministry Spokesman, the Russian aid may be supplied by the railway, but only after checking the contains of the cargo by relevant bodies of Ukraine and representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross. Perebyinis said that this procedure is envisaged by the international law and the law of Ukraine.
He stressed that illegal armed groups hamper the government attempts to send Ukrainian humanitarian aid to Donbas.
“Unfortunately, despite the reached previous agreements, including as part of consultations of the contact group, illegal armed groups still do not allow sending of humanitarian aid by the government,” Perebyinis said.
