Foreign companies seek to participate in liquefied natural gas (LNG) projects in Iran, Tehran Times newspaper reported referring to a statement of Managing Director of National Iranian Gas Exports Company (NIGEC) Alireza Kameli on Sunday.
Kameli announced that talks are underway between NIGEC and eight foreign and domestic companies specialized in LNG projects regarding the ways of participation in the construction of new LNG plants in the country, according to the report.
The managing director noted that applicant companies have presented their proposals and NIGEC is considering the offers and the decisions will be finalized as soon as the oil ministry notifies the company with its policy in this regard, the newspaper writes.
