Ukraine`s Ministry of Finance will this week inspect checkpoints and places where customs clearance of goods takes place to verify the operation of an automated ”single window” system, which was launched at Ukrainian customs houses from August 1, the ministry`s press service reported.
The Finance Ministry noted that the introduction of the automated ”single window” system will significantly simplify customs procedures and reduce execution time. This, in turn, will facilitate business operations and eliminate the scope for corruption.
As UNIAN reported earlier, on May 25, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine decided to implement the ”single window” technology at customs houses in Ukraine. The system was launched on August 1 and outlines the creation of a single electronic database, which allows automatic exchange of information among various monitoring and customs control offices regarding cargo that is being transported through Ukraine`s border.
