Farmers have already achieved almost 90% of the plan for early grain crops, the press service of the regional administration`s department of agricultural development has told UNIAN.
According to the report, wheat`s share in the total yield is more than 1,300 tonnes. The average yield remains the same as last year`s level of 29.8 c/ha.
”This year we are expecting a rich harvest. We can already see that there will be enough grain to ensure the food needs of the region and to form a reserve stock of wheat for the next year. We are planning to complete the harvesting of early grain crops by August,” Vadym Udovitskiy, head of the department, said.
More than 3,000 harvesters are involved in seasonal work.
