European Parliament Committee to approve report on visa-free regime for Ukraine today

On September 26, the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs will approve the positive report for Ukraine, prepared by the rapporteur Maria Gabriel (Bulgaria), MEP Andrej Plenkovic said in an interview with Segodnya nationwide daily socio-political Russian-language newspaper.

According to Plenkovic, a very positive ”opinion” on this report has already been received in the Committee on Foreign Affairs, which was prepared by MEP from Poland Jacek Saryush-Wolski, who constantly promotes the idea of Ukraine. After that, this issue will be included in the agenda of the plenary session of the European Parliament, he said.

MEP also said that the committee would do its best to achieve a positive result and a positive vote.

Plenkovic said that the only question EP had to understand was a problem of the migration crisis and refugees. The issues of visa liberalization are associated with it, which complicates the process, he stressed.

As UNIAN reported earlier, The European Union will lift the visa regime for the Ukrainian citizens as early as next month, EU Commissioner for Enlargement Johannes Hahn has told in an exclusive comment to Deutsche Welle.
