The EU reminds students from the Eastern Partnership countries about filing the applications for scholarships to study at European universities. More than four thousand young Ukrainian are expected to participate in the EU student exchange program Erasmus + by 2020.
European Commission spokesperson Maya Kosyanchych said this in commentary to an Ukrinform correspondent in Brussels.
“In 2015, we aim to finance about 3.200 applications for exchange of students and education personnel from the Eastern Partnership countries under the program Erasmus +. Based on the experience of implementing such programs in previous years, we estimate that more than four thousand young Ukrainian (28% of all participants from the Eastern Partnership states) will seize the opportunity of student exchanges within the program Erasmus + by the year 2020,” spokesperson said.
Kosyanchych recalled that the deadline for applications to participate in the competition for EU scholarships and further study in European universities in 2015 expires on March 4. The procedure for selection of students will complete in July, and most exchanges will begin from September 2015.
“The participation of Ukrainian depends on the activity of Ukrainian educational institutions. Geographical balance in the region will also be considered during selection,” European Commission spokesperson Maya Kosyanchych said.
