EU sanctions against Russia remain unchanged

The European Union has left unchanged its restrictive measures against Russia and will make the next assessment of the situation in eastern Ukraine in late October, a European Council representative has told Ukrinform’s correspondent in Brussels.
The permanent representatives of member states in the European Council assessed the situation in the east of Ukraine, including the implementation of Minsk agreements, a peace plan of Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and a ceasefire regime, he said. At this stage, the restrictive measures against Russia were left unchanged, while ambassadors will again assess the situation in late October, he added.
The EU left unchanged the earlier approved provision that depending on the situation in eastern Ukraine, sanctions against Russia may be enhanced, suspended or cancelled in whole or in part.
