EU may revise sanctions against Russia due to recognition of pseudo-elections

EU member states will discuss this week possible changes to the regime of sanctions against Russia over Moscow’s recognition of the so-called elections in DPR and LPR.
EU foreign policy chief spokesperson Maja Kocijancic said this on Monday, Ukrinform’s correspondent in Brussels reported.
When asked whether the EU plans to tighten sanctions against Russia due to the recognition of the so-called elections in the territories controlled by terrorist organizations in Donetsk and Luhansk regions, she said that restrictive measures were constantly being reviewed and that EU member states would discuss this issue later this week.
As reported, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini said on November 2 that “elections” held in eastern Ukraine on November 2 were illegitimate, that they undermined the peace process and that the EU would not recognize them.
