EU gives Ukraine EUR 22 million to help eastern regions

The European Commission allocates EUR 22 million to help the people of the eastern regions of Ukraine.
The press service of the European Commission told Ukrinform, a Ukrinform correspondent in Brussels reports.
“The European Commission allocates EUR 22 million to help the population of Ukrainian regions suffering from the effects of a conflict,” a statement reads.
Funding is twofold: EUR 5 million of humanitarian aid and EUR 17 million of development aid.
The EU humanitarian initiatives will be implemented in Ukraine through partner organizations and include ensuring the creation of a place of refuge, providing food, water, medical care, physical and social rehabilitation and preparation for winter.
