EU congratulates Ukraine on Independence Day, acknowledges progress

The European Union (EU) congratulated Ukraine on its Independence Day and acknowledged the remarkable progress Ukraine has made as a democratic and independent nation over the past 25 years, according to a statement by the spokesperson of the EU foreign diplomatic service.

”The EU continues to support the reform process that Ukraine has undertaken. Our cooperation based on shared values has led to an ever closer partnership within the framework of the Association Agreement, including a Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area, offering political partnership and new economic opportunities to both sides,” the statement said.

”Ukraine continues to be a priority partner for the EU. The EU will continue supporting Ukraine`s efforts in ensuring a stable, prosperous and democratic future for all its citizens.”

”The EU remains unwavering in its support for Ukraine`s territorial integrity and sovereignty and continues its firm policy of non-recognition of the illegal annexation of Crimea by the Russian Federation,” the spokesperson stated.
