Russian troops and militants opened fire 40 times over the past day and shelled houses of civilians.
Head of the Center of Political and Military Studies, coordinator of the Information Resistance group Dmytro Tymchuk announced on Facebook.
“For the past day, about 40 times shelling was fixed on the part of Russian forces and militants. Ukrainian troops strictly observed the ceasefire,” the expert said.
He also noted that the militants after provocations told residents of fired buildings that Ukrainian security forces shelled their homes.
“In addition to positions of Ukrainian troops, terrorists are firing on civilian targets, including homes of civilians. At the same time, the militants reported to the local population that the Ukrainian security forces are firing. Similar cases are reported in the settlements of Donetsk and Luhansk regions,” Tymchuk said.
According to him, from 19.00 Friday to 07.00 a.m. Saturday, terrorists and Russian troops held fire on support points in Maryinka, near the settlement of Pisky, near the positions in Yasynuvata, Tonenke, Zhdanivka, Maloorlivka (twice), the mine of the 60th anniversary of the Great October Revolution.
The base camp at Debaltseve and a checkpoint near Maloorlivka were also under fire.
Fire was carried out with mortars, rocket-propelled grenades and small arms.
Tonenke was shelled with Grad rocket launchers from Donetsk, Yasynuvata, except mortars, was shelled with barreled artillery.
As reported, Ukrainian troops repulsed a massive assault on their positions in the area of the Donetsk airport and then stood under the fire from the enemy artillery.
