E-money transactions 1.6 times up in H1 – National Bank of Ukraine

Transactions with electronic money to pay for products, work and services in the first half of 2016 amounted to UAH 1.8 billion, which is by 1.6 times up on the same period in 2015, according to the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU).

The total amount of electronic money issued in the first six months of 2016 almost doubled year-over-year, from UAH 21.6 million to UAH 39 million, the NBU said on its website.

The total number of ”electronic wallets” and ”accounts” increased by 1.2 times in the period under review, from 36 million to 43.6 million.

As UNIAN reported earlier, in 2015 the amount of transactions to pay for goods, work and services with the use of electronic money was estimated at UAH 3.2 billion.
