Donetsk railway blocks 800 cars with coal

800 railway cars with coal, which is so necessary for the country, are on the territory of Donetsk region, controlled by Ukraine.
Head of Donetsk regional state administration Oleksandr Kikhetenko told a press conference in Kramatorsk, Ukrinform’s correspondent reports.
“Just count how much coal is in these cars. Multiply 800 cars with 65 tons of fuel in each of them and obtain its total volume. The whole problem is in the Donetsk Railway, whose administration is located in Donetsk, in the territory of the self-proclaimed “DPR.” I instructed to re-register the railway administration in Krasny Lyman or Sloviansk. Now a decision is after Ukrzaliznytsia,” he said.
In general, according to the governor, the measure must establish clear work on delivery of goods, elimination of downtime and repairs of railroad tracks.
Kikhtenko noted that a particularly acute problem today is providing the Slaviansk thermal power plant with coal. The fact is that it is designed only for boilers using coal of grade “A”- anthracite. It is produced at mines, located on the territory, controlled by militants.
It simply does not exist on our territory, the governor added. “Either we buy coal from the “DPR” or the “LPR,” or leave people without electricity and heat. Proposals in this regard we have already sent to the Cabinet.
