Doctor visits Savchenko, lawyers persuade her to stop hunger strike

A doctor sent by Moscow’s health department has visited Ukrainian MP Nadia Savchenko, who is illegally held in Moscow’s jail. Now her lawyers hope to persuade their client to stop the hunger strike.
One of Savchenko’s lawyers, Mark Feygin, wrote this on his Twitter page on Tuesday.
“A doctor from Moscow’s health department has visited Nadia Savchenko,” he wrote.
“We will try to persuade Nadia Savchenko to stop the hunger strike. I hope it will happen,” he added.
Feygin reported earlier that medicines had been passed to Savchenko. In addition, Ukrainian consul Hennadiy Breskalenko and lawyer Nikolai Polozov were allowed to see her today.
As reported, Savchenko went on a hunger strike on December 15 after her request to call an ear, nose and throat specialist was rejected.
