People’s deputies approved an appeal of the parliament to international organizations on the release of their counterpart Nadia Savchenko, who is kept in the Russian pretrial detention facility.
321 deputies voted for the resolution “On the appeal of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to international organizations and inter-parliamentary assemblies on the release of Ukrainian aviatress and people’s deputy of Ukraine of the VIII convocation Nadia Viktorivna Savchenko.”
According to one of the authors of the document Hryhoriy Nemyria (Batkivshchyna), the text also says about the release of other Ukrainians, kept in Russia.
“The aim and task of adoption of the resolution is ensuring constitutional rights of citizens for presentation of the elected people’s deputies of Ukraine in the session hall of the parliament,” the resolution reads.
