Deficit of Ukraine`s foreign trade in goods rises by almost 30%

The deficit of Ukraine`s foreign trade in goods in January through April 2016 amounted to $1.706 billion, which was higher by 28.9% on a deficit of $1.324 billion in January-April 2015, according to the National Bank of Ukraine.
Exports of goods from Ukraine in the period under review amounted to $9.915 billion, which is lower by 15% compared to the same period last year. Imports decreased by 10.5% to $11.621 billion, the NBU said on its website.
The data is presented excluding the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, as well as part of the Anti-Terrorist Operation zone in eastern Ukraine.
As UNIAN reported earlier, the deficit of Ukraine`s foreign trade in goods in the first quarter of 2016 amounted to $1.6 billion, which was 40.7% higher on a deficit of $1.1 billion in the same period last year.
