The budget request of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry for 2015 is UAH 44.7 billion, of which UAH 28.7 billion is required to maintain the Armed Forces.
Ukrainian Defense Ministry spokeswoman Viktoria Kushnir said this at a briefing in Kyiv on Thursday, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.
“The Defense Ministry’s budget request for next year is UAH 44.7 billion,” she said.
She said that of this amount, UAH 14.1 billion was to be spent on the development of weapons and military equipment, UAH 1.9 billion on the training of troops, and UAH 28.7 billion on the maintenance of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Kushnir also said that as of 25 December, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry had received UAH 26.347 billion from the budget, or over 96% of the funds envisaged for 2014. The Defense Ministry’s demand for funds in 2014 was UAH 31.307 billion, she said.
