Court acquits “Vasylkiv terrorists”

The Court of Appeal of Kyiv Region dismissed charges and closed the case against the so-called “Vasylkiv terrorists”, MP from the Radical Party of Ukraine Ihor Mosiychuk posted on Facebook.
“The Court of Appeal of Kyiv Region has fully acquitted me, Serhiy Bevza and Volodymyr Shpara, and closed the case of the so-called “Vasylkiv terrorists” for absence of a crime in the act. The materials on violations of the effective law, which took place during the preliminary investigation and the trial, were sent to the prosecutor’s office of Kyiv region to determine those responsible for violations and punish them,” Mosiychuk wrote.
As reported, in January 2014, the men were sentenced to 6 years in prison for the alleged preparation of explosion of the Lenin monument in the center of Boryspil town, Kyiv region, on the 20th anniversary of Ukraine’s independence.
February 24, 2014, the Court of Appeal of Kyiv Region released defendants from custody on their own recognizance.
