Council on National Bank of Ukraine greenlights transfer of UAH 38 bln profit to state budget

An updated Council of the National Bank of Ukraine at the first meeting after a year`s break has approved the annual consolidated financial statements of the central bank for 2015 and the distribution of profits of the central bank, which will allow to transfer UAH 38 billion of profit to the state budget.

”I am pleased to join the work of the NBU Council,” Valeriya Gontareva, the central`s bank governor, said at the meeting, according to the NBU website.

”Today`s decision will allow the transfer of the NBU`s profit, namely UAH 38.164 billion to the State Budget of Ukraine,” she said. ”At the same time, I would like to note that this amount will be transferred in several tranches as agreed with the Ministry of Finance so that it has no influence on price stability in the country.”

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko October 24 unblocked the work of the NBU COuncil by appointing two of its members on the presidential quota.
