”Ceasefire” in Donbas: Number of Russian attacks remains high in last day

Combined Russian-separatist forces attacked Ukrainian army positions in eastern Ukraine 48 times in the past 24 hours, including 20 times in the Mariupol sector, 12 times in the Donetsk sector and 16 times in the Luhansk sector, according to the press center of the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) headquarters.

In the Luhansk sector, the occupiers fired grenade launchers, an anti-aircraft gun and small arms near the village of Stanytsia Luhanska. They also used grenade launchers, machine guns and small arms near the villages of Krymske, Novo-Oleksandrivka and Novozvanivka. Additionally, the enemy fired 120mm and 82mm mortars on the Ukrainian positions near Krymske and Novo-Oleksandrivka.

In the Mariupol sector, Russia`s hybrid military forces violated the ceasefire near the villages of Pavlopil, Vodiane and Shyrokyne, using grenade launchers, machine guns and small arms. A sniper was also active in Pavlopil. Furthermore, the militants used infantry fighting vehicles to attack Shyrokyne.

In the Donetsk sector, the Russian proxies fired grenade launchers, machine guns and small arms near the town of Avdiyivka, and the villages of Novhorodske, Verkhniotoretske, Kamianka and Zaitseve. The enemy also opened fire from 120mm and 82mm mortars on Zaitseve and Avdiyivka, as well as from 152mm tube artillery systems on Zaitseve. In addition, the enemy fired tank shells on the Ukrainian defenders near Avdiyivka. Verkhniotoretske also came under sniper fire.
