Canada ready to join post-war reconstruction of Donbas

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has met in Ottawa with Governor General of Canada David Johnston, the Ukrainian leader’s press service has reported.
Poroshenko noted Canada’s special historical role in the development of Ukraine as an independent democratic state, as well as traditionally friendly bilateral relations that have a real nature of distinctive partnership.
He expressed gratitude for political support and economic assistance provided by Canada to Ukraine for many years and noted close interpersonal contacts that connect the two countries.
Johnston, in turn, wished Ukraine to achieve peace more quickly and said that Canada was ready to join the post-war reconstruction of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
The Governor General also proposed developing bilateral cooperation in the field of high technology, energy, and science.
