Canada lends $200 mln to Ukraine

Canada’s export agency has given Ukraine a loan of 200 million Canadian dollars at a rate of 2.1% per annum for five years, the press service of the Ukrainian Finance Ministry has reported.
“The Ukrainian Finance Ministry carried out external government borrowing by signing a loan agreement of September 17, 2014 between Ukraine and Canada’s export agency as an agent of Her Majesty the Queen in right of Canada, in the amount of 200 million Canadian dollars at a rate of 2.1 percent per annum, with a maturity period of five years,” reads the statement.
The Finance Ministry added that the funds were transferred to Ukrainian government accounts on September 30.
