European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso will visit Kyiv on Friday and Saturday, the European Commission has told Ukrinform’s correspondent in Brussels.
According to the report, Barroso will visit Kyiv this week. On Friday, he will meet with President Petro Poroshenko. On Saturday morning, he will meet with Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk. During these bilateral talks the sides will discuss the security situation, a ceasefire, the political and economic situation in Ukraine and EU-Ukraine relations, including assistance from the EU and subsequent agreements.
On Friday, Barroso will attend the 11th YES Annual Meeting. Among EU representatives the event will be attended by European Parliament President Martin Schulz, Estonian President Thomas Hendrik Ilves, and European Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy Stefan Fule.
