Almost half of attacks on Ukraine troops in Donbas focus on Mariupol sector

Combined Russian-separatist forces attacked Ukrainian army positions in eastern Ukraine 36 times in the past 24 hours, including 17 in the Mariupol sector, nine barrages in the Luhansk sector, and 10 in the Donetsk sector, according to the press service of the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) Headquarters.

In the Mariupol sector, the enemy fired heavy machine guns, grenade launchers and small arms on the Ukrainian fortified positions near the villages of Hranitne, Lebedynske, Hnutove and Novotroyitske. Further, infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs) were used to attack in the village of Berezne.

”The militants opened fire from 120mm mortars near the village of Stepne, and 82mm and 120mm mortars were used to attack the village of Shyrokyne and the town of Krasnohorivka,” the report says.

In the Luhansk sector, the occupiers used grenade launchers and small arms against ATO forces near the villages of Nyzhnioteple and Lopaskyne, as well as 120mm mortars and 122mm cannon artillery systems in the village of Krymske.

In the Donetsk sector, Russia`s hybrid military force used IFVs against the Ukrainian soldiers in the village of Luhanske, as well as 82mm mortars, machine guns, grenade launchers and small arms in the town of Avdiyivka, Butivka coal mine and the village of Verkhniotoretske.
