ATO HQ: 40 attacks on Ukraine troops in last day

The combined Russian-separatist forces attacked Ukrainian army positions 40 times in the past day, with shelling becoming more intensive at dusk, the press center of the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) reported on Saturday.
”The hottest point was near Maryinka where illegal armed groups committed over a dozen attacks on our strong points using 82mm mortars, grenade launchers and small arms,” a statement reads.
Militants launched intensive shelling on strongholds of the ATO forces near Avdiyivka, Krasnohorivka and Nevelske from the temporarily occupied Donetsk and its suburbs. They used small arms, rocket-propelled grenades and 82mm and 120mm mortars.
”The pro-Russian gunmen shelled 82mm mortars on Ukrainian positions in Zaitseve from the outskirts of the occupied Horlivka,” according to the statement.
In the Mariupol direction, the militants also fired 120mm and 82mm mortars, as well as small arms on the Ukrainian fortified positions near the villages of Lebedynske and Talakivka.
The press center also reported that four enemy drones were spotted last night.
”One saboteur drone dropped explosive devices several times while flying over the positions of Ukrainian troops in Lozuvatske,” the press center reported.
”Since the beginning of the day, the armed gangs have fired rocket-propelled grenades and small arms on Ukrainian strongholds near Avdiyivka and Maryinka,” it said.
