ATO forces kill militants and Russian mercenaries, who refuse to adhere to the ceasefire. Over one day, two self-propelled mortars Tupan were destroyed, one mortar detachment and about 50 militants.
Spokesman of the NSDC Information-Analytical Center Colonel Andriy Lysenko informed, a Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“The total number of recorded destruction over a day is three enemy tanks, two self-propelled Tulpan mortars, mortar servants and about 50 militants,” Lysenko said.
According to him, despite the ceasefire, Russian terrorists and mercenaries attacked the bases of the ATO forces near the settlement of Debaltseve and near the village of Trudivske, in the Maryinsky district and twice tried to storm the Donetsk airport, but all attacks were repulsed.
“Yesterday, after a mortar attack, the terrorists once again tried to storm the Donetsk airport. During the day, our forces repulsed two powerful storms. In the extremely difficult situation, Ukrainian military demonstrated true heroism. They rejected the enemy and destroyed a tank, which previously destroyed our APC,” the Spokesman for the Information-Analytical Center of the National Security and Defence Council noted.
He added that during the evening attack, the Ukrainian armored vehicle was hit with the crew and troops from the terrorists’ tank. “Due to an intense combat, our paratroopers suffered losses,” Lysenko said.
