Amnesty International notes human rights progress in Ukraine after Kyiv Pride

International human rights organization Amnesty International Ukraine has noted progress in the protection of human rights in Ukraine after the Equality March in Kyiv, also known as the Kyiv Pride, on June 12.
”We`ve been seeking this day for many years and today we are seeing real progress in human rights. There is still much to be done on the way to society without discrimination, but today we are celebrating our first step,” Amnesty International Ukraine wrote on Facebook.
International human rights activists pointed to the consolidated work of law enforcement agencies and city authorities.
”Many thanks to the National Police of Ukraine, Kyiv City State Administration and Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko – you have worked perfectly well,” said human rights activists.
Chief of Ukraine`s National Police Khatia Dekanoidze reported that 1,500 people had taken part in the Kyiv Pride 2016, and almost 7,000 police and other law enforcers were guarding the procession.
