Almost half of Germans against Crimea’s joining Russia

As many as 48% of Germans are against the recognition of Crimea as part of Russia, and 39% of German citizens hold the opposite view, according to a survey conducted by German pollster infratest dimap and released by the ARD television channel.
“Forty-eight of respondents spoke out against the official recognition of Crimea’s accession to Russia, and 39% spoke out for it,” reads the statement.
In addition, 54% of respondents said they saw no threat to Germany in the current foreign policy of the Kremlin. Some 43% of Germans said they saw no direct threat to their country.
