Almost every third Ukrainian withdraws deposit from bank

Outflow of deposits from the banking system over the year made up UAH 126 billion, which is 29% of the total amount of the deposit portfolio.
National Bank governor Varleria Hontareva told a press conference Tuesday, a Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“Today, the outflow of deposits made up UAH 126 billion. Out of these, UAH 54.5 billion is the outflow of deposits in the hryvnia, and UAH 9 billion – the outflow of deposits in the foreign currency, which is about 29% of private deposits,” she noted.
According to Hontareva, the main share of the outflow of deposits fell on the beginning of the year.
The NBU governor added that “unfortunately, this trend continues now, but it is not compared to the outflow, which was at the beginning.”
