About 3,080 Ukrainians released from captivity in over two years – Ukrainian SBU adviser

Adviser to the chief of the SBU Security Service of Ukraine Yuriy Tandit says that there are about 3,080 Ukrainians who have been released from captivity or whose whereabouts have been established in over two years since the beginning of Russian aggression against Ukraine, according to hromadske.tv.

”As of today, 3,080 people have either been released from captivity or located. There are places where our people are kept now. They are held by those people who are subject to Kremlin-controlled proxies. These are the places where they are kept unlawfully,” Tandit said, hromadske.tv reported.

Donbas militants keep 107 Ukrainians in captivity in temporarily occupied territory in eastern Ukraine, while nine people are unlawfully imprisoned in Russia, he said.

Militants from terrorist organizations – the self-proclaimed Donetsk People`s Republic and Luhansk People`s Republic – have officially confirmed that 45 Ukrainians are held in captivity, he added.
