Prosecutor General questions President Poroshenko in Euromaidan case

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko testified in criminal proceedings regarding crimes against the EuroMaidan protesters, president`s spokesman Svyatoslav Tsegolko has told UNIAN.

”President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko testified in the case of crimes against Maidan,” said Tsegolko.

According to the spokesperson, the president has repeatedly stated that he is interested in the investigation of crimes against participants of the Revolution f Dignity and prosecution of those responsible.

August 8, Head of the Department of special investigations of the Prosecutor General`s Office of Ukraine Serhiy Horbatyuk said that the PGO intended to summon for questioning President Poroshenko, NSDC Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov, former Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk, and Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko to testify on the events at the Maidan in January-February, 2014.

In turn, the president`s press secretary had said that Petro Poroshenko would come in for questioning in the PGO only upon receiving an official subpoena.

November 15, Horbatyuk said that Poroshenko had been summoned for questioning to the PGO for November 29 as a witness in the case of crimes against the Maidan.
