National Bank of Ukraine: Hryvnia strengthens to dollar by 1.2% in Oct

As of October 29, the official exchange rate of hryvnia against the dollar has risen by 1.2% over the month, according to the macroeconomic and monetary review of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU).

In October, the supply of foreign currency at the market exceeded the demand due to improved market sentiment against the decision of the International Monetary Fund on the allocation of next tranche to our country, as well as due to the stabilization of world prices for commodities.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the official exchange rate of the hryvnia against the dollar decreased by 1% in September, and by 7.9% in January-September.

On November 7, hryvnia quotations against the dollar on the interbank currency market by the close of trade settled at UAH 25.55/25.57 to the dollar.

A historic low of the official hryvnia exchange rate against the dollar was recorded in February 2015 and amounted to UAH 30.01 to the dollar.
