80% of industry not working in Luhansk and Donetsk region – Economy Ministry

Only 20% of industry works in Luhansk and Donetsk regions, which destabilizes the economic situation in Ukraine.
Deputy Economic Development and Trade Minister Roman Kachur told this.
“From 50% to 80% of industrial enterprises are not operating in Ukraine’s east. The economic situation in the state is destabilized due to the Russian invasion of the territory of Ukraine,” he said.
The official stressed that 19 out of 23 system-forming enterprises are not working in Luhansk, and in Donetsk a 50% decline was observed in July-August 2014 against the same period of the previous year.
He also said that the GDP fall is observed by 4.6% in Q1-Q2. “This trend will be preserved in Q3-Q4 due to the fall of production and consumption,” the deputy minister said.
