If Russia does not withdraw troops from the territory of Ukraine, mercenaries and military equipment, the further consequences for Russia and its economy will be disaster- guaranteed,” political analyst Volodymyr Tsybulko says.
He said this in the “National Interest” program on the BTV.
“The mechanism of international economic sanctions against Russia has been launched. And soon to those, already existing, the new ones can be added, more stringent, if Russia does not take responsibility for its words,” Tsybulko said.
“In fact, the civilized world gives President Vladimir Putin the last chance to stop. And if he does not win the situation back, including Crimea, future prospects for Russia are pretty predictable,” the analyst says.
However, the main purpose of the ATO in Ukrainian Donbas is to win the minds of the people, not the territory.
“To see this, it is suffice to compare how human life is arranged in the liberated territories of the Ukrainian army, and how – in those, controlled by terrorists. It’s just two different worlds, two different perspectives,” Tsybulko said.
“Therefore, in Donbas, the state of mind, even washed by the Russian propaganda, sooner or later, all the same is beginning to change in the direction of the Ukrainian perspective.
Same thing is with the return of Crimea. This is a fight for the people. Quite weighty, but very poorly organized pro-Ukrainian segment of the population has always been in Crimea. However, after the Maidan, the authorities, unfortunately, were unable to organize the resistance,” the analyst said.
