Putin agrees with Hollande to focus strikes on ISIL


Russian President Vladimir Putin agreed on Thursday with his French counterpart François Hollande that both countries’ air strikes in Syria should be focused on Islamic State (ISIL) and other “terrorist” movements.
In what is likely to be hailed in Paris as a major diplomatic breakthrough, both countries also agreed to exchange information and cooperate on which organizations they deem “terrorists,” while Putin accepted that Syrian rebels groups who are fighting ISIL should be spared.
