Armenia betters its position in 2016 World Press Freedom Index


Armenia has bettered its media freedom ranking to come 74th in the 2016 World Press Freedom Index released by the Reporters Without Borders.
This year Armenia has progressed by 4 points leaving behind several EU member countries, including Italy, Cyprus, Greece and Bulgaria, as well as Ukraine, Israel, Turkey and Azerbaijan/
Russia is placed 148th on the list while Azerbaijan is 163rd.
Seen as a benchmark throughout the world, the Index ranks 180 countries according to the freedom allowed journalists.
